Job Description

There is an exciting career opportunity available for a Supervisor, Advanced Platforms and Validation within the Transgenic Genotyping Service (TGS). The incumbent is responsible for overseeing a team of Laboratory Technologists and managing workload, training, and development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of up to 10 Laboratory Technologists in TGS. Manage their workload, training, and development.
  • Providing training on new assay validation processes and advanced genotyping platforms in TGS by operational need. Act as a subject matter expert on these platforms and processes.
  • Direct report responsibility; conflict resolution, mentoring, coaching, and team & staff development.
  • Manage performance via SMART goals and one on one coaching. Track team performance and KPIs.
  • General laboratory management; customer communications, data review, ordering, etc.
  • Workload management and prioritization. Balance competing priorities and ensure appropriate coverage across all genotyping platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences or related field. Strong working knowledge of molecular genetics and genotyping procedures.
  • Three years of experience in a high throughput research service environment where quality, efficiency and continuous improvement are imperative to success.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and mentor in a team environment
  • Demonstrated experience with resolving conflicts with diplomacy and tact
  • Demonstrated ability to create and contribute to a positive, professional, high-performance environment

Salary: $56,575 - $97,248
