Position Overview: The Talent Acquisition & Early Careers Specialist at NRG Energy plays a pivotal role in managing full-cycle recruitment for a diverse portfolio of requisitions while also spearheading early careers programs to attract, develop, and retain emerging talent. This dynamic position requires strategic thinking, relationship-building skills, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent, leveraging various channels such as campus recruitment, job fairs, social media, and employee referrals.
  • Develop working relationships with clients and partner with hiring managers, interview teams, and Talent Business Partners to assess needs, identify key talent, and screen candidates against accurate criteria.
  • Design and execute innovative recruiting strategies to attract diverse talent, including sourcing high-quality candidates and conducting screening interviews.
  • Provide a world-class candidate experience by connecting with candidates throughout the recruitment process and ensuring alignment with company values.
  • Collaborate with the Onboarding team to facilitate a smooth transition for new hires from acceptance to their first day on the job.
  • Design, implement, and manage early careers programs, including internships and rotational programs to attract and develop emerging talent.
  • Partner with HR and department leaders to facilitate internal mobility opportunities, including job rotations, transfers, and promotions, to support career growth and development for existing employees.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with colleges and universities to establish pipelines of qualified candidates for internships, entry-level positions, and development programs.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance representation and foster an inclusive culture within the early careers' programs and talent acquisition processes.
  • Actively participate in staffing-related projects and cross-functional initiatives across the organization.
  • Foster relationships with colleges and professional organizations to attract and recruit alumni and diverse candidates.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma and 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition, or university relations in an organization where hiring interns was a priority.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in talent acquisition, or university relations in an organization where hiring interns was a priority.
  • Experience working with an ATS.
  • Strong understanding of talent acquisition principles and best practices, with experience in campus recruitment and university partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across functions and levels within an organization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture and promoting diversity in talent acquisition practices.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience providing a client group recruiting support.
  • Experience supporting early careers programs.
