Intern (Tradesformer)

What you will do:

We are currently seeking a student intern to join our Team for a Fall 2024 internship. Our training program will give you the opportunity to demonstrate customer focus and prepare you to succeed after college. In this program, you will have a chance to apply your technical knowledge and work with customers to better understand HVAC services and projects. The program consists of ten-weeks of training working hands-on with service technicians performing preventative maintenance/repairs/projects. Time will also be spent supporting successful account representatives and getting mentoring from service and general managers on how to run a successful service business. Opportunities for part-time internships may continue in future semesters.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Use basic HVAC hand tools
  • Experience working with sheet metal and HVAC equipment
  • Load, transport, and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Must be able to work alongside one or more co-worker field mentors
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrate a responsibility toward efficient time management of job assignment.
  • Be neat and clean at all times and keeping vehicles and equipment the same.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Adhere to proper procedures in the use of paperwork
  • Work overtime hours as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • Able to climb ladders

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Applicant can be a High School Junior or Senior and Part of the Pitt County Tradesformer's program with planning a career in HVAC.
  • Good working knowledge of materials, operations, and maintenance of specialty equipment utilized for the installation of these materials.
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule
  • Must be able to work in outdoor conditions for long periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record (Must be 18 to drive Piedmont Service Group vehicles)
  • Must be able to pass drug & background screening
