What You'll Do

As the Digital Transformation (DT) Solutions Architect, you are the technical strategic DT lead, identifying and working to implement technical solutions and architecture to meet business requirements. Your goal is to deliver a flexible, extensible, modular, and secure DT architecture that transforms the way we work. Ultimately what drives you is the responsibility for innovating and implementing technical solutions that support our national security mission to maintain the safety, security, and effectiveness of the United States nuclear weapons stockpile.

In this role you will provide direction and oversight for DT applications & technical architectures that are tightly aligned to our IT strategy and our IT Operational road map. You will implement and integrate solution architectures, governance processes, and tools, while maintaining a key focus on technology standardization and optimization as well as solutions which integrate with existing technology platforms.

You'll be responsible for:

* Collaborating with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and the DT Program Manager in order to define & develop a Digital Transformation roadmap that focuses on business priorities both short term and long term and integrates with our IT Operations roadmap.
* Conceptualize long term, sustainable digital solutions that utilize emerging technology.
* Define, describe, diagram and document current, transitional and target state of digital technology architecture roadmaps.
* Understand, interpret, and apply the implications of developing a solution that meets regulatory and security needs and that align to and meet NNSA and DOE cyber security guidelines.
* Design, develop, and maintain scalable and transformational systems and infrastructure that meet the needs of our production customers and business requirements.
* Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, architectural allocation, and interface definition studies to translate stakeholder needs into system requirements.
* Research, evaluate, and prototype new technologies to enable rapid delivery to realize our vision of Digital Transformation.
* Understand architecture patterns, design patterns and have experience with full stack technologies like Java/JEE, Spring boot, Node.js, Python, Go, Angular, etc.
* Demonstrate understanding of Digital Twins, Digital Thread, Microservice architecture, Containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, EKS/ECS) and experience implementing solutions for Cloud Systems (AWS) and Cloud storage (S3, EBS, EFS, Backup, DR/BCP).
* Drive continuous improvement in performance, security, automation, quality, monitoring, and reliability of the DT platform(s).
* Design and prepare client ready material and facilitate strategy and architecture discussions with stakeholders/clients.

The successful candidate will have the following skill set:

* Strong understanding of IT systems architecture (Windows/Linux/Unix), Hypervisor environments (VMWare, VDI), UCS compute architecture, Fabric Interconnect, Containerization, etc.
* Strong understanding of IT network architecture (VLAN, Security, AD, F/C, Cisco IoS, routing and switching protocols, spine/leaf architectures, etc.)
* Working knowledge of cyber security hardware and software (Cisco ISE, Palo Alto, Trellix, FireEye, MFA, SEIM solutions, etc.)
* Working knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Domo, Sisense), data logging and aggregation systems (Splunk), ServiceNow, SAP, Ansible and Graylog
* Familiarity with manufacturing system architectures and software (MES, PLC's, industrial automation systems, Thingworx, Kepware, OPC, etc.)
