The Department of Music in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for an Assistant Professor/Instructor of Low Brass. This is a non-tenure earning, nine-month 100% appointment that will begin August 19, 2024. Primary responsibilities will be to teach applied low brass lessons to undergraduate music students, serve as Brass area head, and other courses commensurate with background and experience.

The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences is composed of ten departments, Tweed Museum of Art, the Fine Arts Academy, the Marshall Performing Arts Center, and Weber Music Hall. The school serves as a cultural, artistic, and educational center for the arts on campus and in Northern Minnesota and provides a comprehensive education for students in the performing and visual arts, including majors in art and music education, as well as complementary opportunities for students in other disciplines.
The UMD Department of Music, comprising 115 undergraduate majors, offers the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music Degrees in Performance, Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree with multiple tracks. Music students and faculty play a leading role in offering cultural and artistic enrichment to the campus, community, and upper Midwest area through outreach and scholarly/creative activities. Ensembles include Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, Jazz Ensembles, University Singers, Chamber Singers, Concert Chorale and Vocal Jazz. UMD Music programs are fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
