Overview:

We are currently seeking engineers to join our Quantum Information Science Section in the Computational Sciences and Engineering Division. More information on the QIS section may be found at ().

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

• Technical development and engineering related to quantum technology for cybersecurity of power and energy systems.
• Technical development related to engineering quantum systems for deployment in optical networks coexisting with classical signals.
• Technical development and engineering related to the design of large quantum systems.
• Contribute to Quantum networking research areas in the group.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an MS degree and 4+ year of relevant experience.
• Degree area should be in physics, optics, optical engineering, systems engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a directly related field
• Previous experience in experimental design, prototyping and testing electronically controlled (for example FPGA controlled) systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Labview and FPGA programming as well as other programable logic controllers for data acquisition and control
• Experience with Lasers and their stabilization
• Experience withcryogenics and/orvacuum systems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Project management experience
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
