POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Epic Client Systems Administrator to join our dynamic healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management, support, and optimization of our Epic EHR (Electronic Health Record) system, ensuring smooth operations and optimal user experience. As a key member of our IT team, the Epic Client Systems Administrator will play a crucial role in maintaining the system's performance, security, and reliability, as well as providing end-user support.


Responsibilities

  • Epic System Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the Epic EHR system, including upgrades and patches. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems and applications.
  • User Support: Provide exceptional technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff. Respond promptly to support tickets and issues, resolving problems efficiently to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Security and Compliance: Enforce security policies, access controls, and data protection measures to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of patient health information (PHI). Stay updated on industry best practices and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA.
  • System Optimization: Monitor system performance and conduct regular system assessments to identify areas for improvement. Implement optimizations and enhancements to enhance system efficiency and user experience.
  • Incident Management: Take a proactive approach to identify and resolve system-related incidents. Collaborate with other IT staff to escalate and resolve complex issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and other relevant processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Vendor Relationship: Liaise with Epic representatives and other vendors to coordinate system updates, address issues, and stay informed about new developments and best practices.
  • System Testing: Ensure thorough testing of new Epic integrations, configurations, and updates in Non Production environment before deploying changes to production systems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Position requires at least 2 years of direct experience and a high school diploma or equivalent OR an Associate's Degree in IS and at least 1 years of direct experience.
  • Epic ECSA Certification required (Module ECSA 101, ECSA 102, ECSA 105)
  • Proven experience in managing and supporting Epic EHR systems in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in the Microsoft Windows server administration
  • Experience in VMware vSphere
  • Experience with load balancing solutions such as Citrix Netscalar

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of Epic applications, databases, and underlying infrastructure. Proficiency in server administration, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with end-users, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, contributing positively to team efforts and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data privacy and security regulations, such as HIPAA and HITECH.
