Position Description

As a Production Supervisor on 2nd shift, you will supervise 70-80 employees, overseeing all production within the facility. You will also be responsible for contacting the appropriate departments for acquisition of components needed to complete operation, write maintenance work orders, schedule production, support plant objectives, resolve minor labor disputes, supervises labor department workers in maintaining a clean work area, and general housekeeping. There may be times where you will need to direct clean up, maintenance, material handling, tool room, and quality assurance to employees.


This is an onsite position in Lawrenceburg, TN. As a 2nd shift Production Supervisor, the required hours for this role begin between 1:30 and 2 PM to complete hand-offs, and ending between 10:30 and 11 PM. In addition, you will be required to participate in a weekend rotation, every other week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Actively and effectively coach and develop his/her direct reports
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a positive and engaging culture with all team members
  • Receive and act on verbal and written information from the plant superintendent, staff personnel, and other supervisors and employees
  • Manages departmental budget and cost
  • Establish production levels of heat exchanger units, meeting company quality SPC requirements
  • Daily check on the department production needs and ensure that parts are on hand for employees when they arrive
  • Write out requisitions for materials and parts necessary for operations
  • Write maintenance work orders for necessary machine repairs and follow up on the work order to minimize down time or faulty operation of the equipment
  • Resolve minor labor differences and handle the initial step involving employee complaints
  • Accountable for meeting quality standards
  • Maintain safety and OSHA standards and regulations on hazardous material within the assigned departments
  • Work closely with engineering and tooling to resolve machinery problems and ensure that manufacturing instructions are correct for all operations and to resolve tooling related problems
  • Maintain required production level in assigned area
  • Direct work force and assignment of jobs to be performed and best utilization of manpower
  • Develop and maintain harmonious working relationships within and outside the department
  • Administer work rules (handbook) in handling employment issues and discipline procedures
  • Keep labor and material usage within departmental budget; Assign work as needed
  • Instruct and train employees
  • Monitor workforce to ensure they are performing at satisfactory levels
  • Provide necessary equipment and tools to safely and properly perform production jobs
  • Monitor equipment and facility systems to ensure adequate performance and take corrective measures
  • Inspect employee output to ensure conformance with quality and quantity standards
  • Direct others in response to emergencies including fire or natural calamity
  • Provide emergency care for injured or ill employees, including CPR if needed
Required Education & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience; Must have technical background in area supervising
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • Strong communication skills; Ability to work cross-functionally within a large organization
  • Well-versed in Excel; Ability to manipulate and present data
