What You'll Do:

We are hiring a Regional Sourcing Manager in the Nashville, TN area! The Regional Sourcing Manager works as a Business Partner to the Executive leaders of each Vulcan's Division. With a relationship network that spans from Plant Managers with to the Division President, the Regional Sourcing Manager is directed to capture the business needs and lead the Division Sourcing team towards the organizational goals. With a generalist approach (OPEX & CAPEX, Goods & Services, Direct & Indirect), the Regional Sourcing Manager will be tasked to drive supply chain risk identification & reduction, spend optimization and process improvements while being the bridge between Vulcan's operational footprint and the supply base (OEMs and distribution channels).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Leadership: Ensure constant presence on the field to understand the business needs and develop relationship with the Plant leaders. Work as a true Business Partner, developing trust and influencing leadership in order to guide the business to make optimum Supply decisions. Operate with a high level of communication and quick-response to any issue that may arise.

Supply Risk Management: Apply efforts to ensure the assigned operational sites have all the required supplies and services at the expected timing, at the right requirements/specifications and with optimum total cost of ownership. Attack supply gaps and source for urgencies in response to unexpected events. Lead continuous improvement efforts and root cause analysis of recurrent inefficiencies. Negotiate terms and conditions based on the Vulcan business needs. Lead commercial conflict resolutions minimizing risks and losses to Vulcan business.

Be a Strategic Sourcing Ambassador: Either maximize utilization of Enterprise agreements or actively source products/services. Utilize the 7-Steps Strategic Sourcing process to recommend supply solutions that maximize Vulcan's value. Lead Sourcing project implementations with minimum disturbance to the normal Operational routine. Inspire the organization to seek the Sourcing value proposition and continuously improve the Strategic Sourcing adoption.

Value Generation: By applying Strategic Sourcing best practices and industry knowledge (which include utilizing advanced analytics tools), pursue value generation targets (cost savings, cost avoidance and cash generation). Build and manage implementation of a portfolio of projects capable of delivering short, mid and long term additional value to the business.

Process Improvement: Responsible for working with Operations and Suppliers to develop the most effective Procure-to-Pay process while establishing and managing supplier relationships. Work to create Catalogs in the Procurement system and drive adoption with the sites. Seek to minimize PCards utilization for applicable categories. Lead continuous improvement efforts and root cause analysis of recurrent inefficiencies.

Qualifications

Skills You'll Need:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area. Master degree is a plus.

Experience. Minimum of 5 years' experience in Procurement position(s). Strong knowledge of Strategic Sourcing practices. Experience in self-directed roles with high customer-centricity expectations. Knowledge of aggregate, asphalt and ready mix operations is preferred.

Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of sourcing, raw materials/finished goods/services buying, accounting, contract negotiations, logistics, and finance. Experience in purchasing for capital projects is a plus.

People Leadership. Minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience. Clearly communicates a vision for the future state and sets stretch goals for self and team.

Interpersonal Skills. Self-driven and self-motivated professional. Must be an excellent motivator, people developer and team builder. Must be able to form strong social relationships and be an effective communicator for internal and external audiences.

Negotiation Skills. Must possess competitive and collaborative negotiation skills.

Finance Knowledge. Must understand finance including ability to analyze managerial cost statements, financial reports, balance sheets, etc. Also, capable of making Sourcing recommendations based on return-on-investment analysis, "make vs. buy" analysis.

Technology Skills. Must display knowledge of and ability to use computer applications and the most up-to-date technology to understand, measure, and capitalize opportunities. Must be able to analyze data through either large-data-pools or customized Procurement reports.
