YOU

As a material handler, you will be responsible for maintaining the flow of materials throughout the department in Screw MFG Department. This position reports directly to the Department Supervisor and is supported by the department's Team Lead(s). This position works Monday through Thursday 3:00pm - 1:30am with overtime as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

You will mainly be responsible for the flow of material in, and out of, the department. (70%)

You will be responsible for staging bins/wire for nail and screw mfg. (15%)

You will be responsible for accurately locating all products removed from the department in the designated rack. (10%)

You will be responsible for weighing finished products with scales to check and ensure that all counts are correct on raw and finished goods that are taken from the department. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Attention to Detail: ability to monitor and review work for completeness.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: ability to think and act effectively under pressure.
  • Communication: able to communicate one-on-one, small group settings and via email.
  • Computer Skills: proficiency in typing.
  • Customer Focus: ability to problem solve in a timely and effective manner.
  • Teamwork: ability to work with other team members to accomplish group goals.
  • Accountability & Dependability: ability to show up to work on time, and follows instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Problem Solving- In this position, there will be occasions where you must make on the spot decisions.
  • 6 months-Forklift/Reach- truck experience.
  • Ability to use a computer to enter production in SAP.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting, and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires no domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.

RELOCATION

Relocation is/is not available for this position.

Pay

$20.29 - $25.38 / hour

* 2nd shift employees will receive a $1.00 shift differential for each hour worked.
