Position Overview

The Senior Analyst, Data Science will be responsible for driving key technology and modeling developments associated with marketing analytics in the media sector. This person will use sophisticated data science techniques to conduct statistical analysis against large volumes of data. The ideal candidate must be comfortable solving business problems by exploring large datasets, proactively communicate ideas and opportunities, and will contribute to the growth and development of an analytics team.

Responsibilities

  • Manipulate & architect large data sets to analyze our clients' businesses across multiple dimensions (sales, brand equity, search interest, website visits, social media, advertising activities, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain automation tools and ETL workflows with coding
  • Build data flows and develop attribution models with multiple large data sources
  • Contribute to the team's AI Infrastructure development
  • Create effective data visualization to illustrate critical insights and analysis
  • Generate audience, campaign and market insights to affect improvements toward clients' business and media goals
  • Collaborate with research, ad-operation, programmatic, verification and investment teams to improve procedures and performance
  • Contribute to the department's overall capabilities and understanding of media and communications channels

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in working with large datasets
  • Knowledge of modelling techniques including Regression, Exponential Smoothing, ARIMA, Decision Tree, and/or Random Forest
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience working with Analytical software and systems such as Alteryx, Tableau, AWS, and/or Big Query
  • Strong Expertise in Excel (Complex formula & data automation skills)
  • UM does not require candidates to have a college degree

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 1-3+ years' experience required in Analytics
  • Proficiency in R or Python preferred
  • Excel VBA coding preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Media Agency or Media Technology Background preferred
