Job Description

Dewberry's Nashville office needs a Mechanical Engineering Department Manager that will also serve as an Assistant Business Unit Manager (ABUM). The Department Manager/ABUM will be primarily responsible for managing and executing project designs and overall operational performance for the Mechanical Engineering discipline in Dewberry's Nashville Business Unit. Priority will be on building the Nashville Mechanical Engineering services capacity and talent alongside the current seasoned Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Technology Engineering staff. The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer with strong, proven design and project management skills.

Responsibilities
    Powerful design, project management, implementation, and execution skills.
  • Ensure all design and operational activities conform to and integrate with the organizations requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal compliance, and general policies and procedures.
  • Manage and be the single point of contact for the Mechanical Engineering Team of designers and project managers.
  • Manage and be the single point of contact for Mechanical Engineering services for our clients.
  • Be the Client Manager (CM) for a specific group of Clients and be the primary resource for the Clients and responsible for all projects for their assigned Clients. Develop proposals and be responsible for financial results for all projects associated with their assigned Clients.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with ability to obtain Tennessee Professional Engineering license.
  • Preferred ten+ years of experience as a Mechanical consulting engineer with diverse project experience including health care, institutional, education, and commercial experience.
  • Active engagement in the engineering consulting industry with planning, design, and construction services.

Must possess and exhibit strong leadership skills, including:

  • Strong communicator, motivator and influencer for managing an entrepreneurial initiative that will bridge current capabilities with a forward-looking vision of Dewberry's future in Nashville.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $150,000-200,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
