Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Medium Voltage Distribution Engineer for our Nashville, TN office to specialize in analysis, design and implementation of medium voltage systems and components for the higher education, renewables, water/wastewater and healthcare markets. The successful candidate should have experience executing medium voltage design, designing protection and control systems, and leading projects. You will be joining a great team of experienced power system engineers operating within building services, higher education, infrastructure, healthcare, and water/wastewater industries. Will report to the MEPS Infrastructure Department Manager.

Responsibilities
    Independently conduct medium voltage distribution design.
  • Independently conduct analysis of existing medium voltage distribution systems.
  • Work with senior engineers to develop clients and proposals and create requests for qualifications.
  • Assist in developing a talented team of engineers to support medium voltage design projects.
  • Lead multiple design projects and manage junior engineers to execute projects.
  • Assist with electrical protection and control design.
  • Develop protective relay settings. Experience with SEL relays are preferred.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related degree.
  • PE or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • 6+ years of medium voltage design experience.
  • Protection and Control design experience.
  • Candidate must have a good working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E, IEEE standards and National Electric Safety Code.
  • Good verbal, writing and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines, and client interface
