As a Sr. Product Manager, you will be a key member of the marketing and sales team in ELIP's Premier Industrial business. Also responsible for the immediate and long-term profitable growth and marketing of the portfolio. The leader will accomplish this through the management of the strategic product roadmap, building demand generating marketing plans for their assigned products, managing plan to serve, and other assigned responsibilities. In this role, you will oversee all steps in the life cycle of products, systems, or services, including development, launch, maintenance, pricing and profitability of ELIP's Flexible Conduit Systems in the U.S.

Your responsibilities

  • Manages both new and existing products; leads life cycle management process from phase-in to phase-out to ensure current and future market requirements are met and maximizes profitability
  • Owns product strategic road map. Works with R&D to propose and evaluate product feasibility projects and roadmaps for new products responsibility for achievement of targets (product characteristics, time, costs, capital expenditure, pay-back)
  • Develops and maintains a business plan that supports sustainable growth; defines and oversees recovery plans as necessary
  • Tracks and analyzes product performance and trends in terms of volume and profitability
  • Team leadership of a small team including an associate product manager and an application specialist
  • Defines product value proposition per segment and channel
  • Responsible for product line pricing, profitability, and margin within the U.S.
  • Initiates and drives product market communication strategy, including product launch planning and implementation
  • Collaborates with internal Marketing and Sales teams to define marketing communication, training, and sales initiatives to ensure best market coverage
  • Market intelligence analysis such as identifying potential gaps in portfolio, both against competition and new market opportunity
  • Acts as interface between external market and internal functions (e.g. Sales, Operations, and Research & Development)
  • Sets targets and monitors products, giving inputs to Operations functions (e.g. Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability
  • Ensures technical and commercial support to sales force for critical or special negotiations
  • Helps develop the creation of external and internal product training modules and programs
  • Creates the generation of sales training covering value proposition, product positioning, application specifics, and competitive advantages
  • Evaluates opportunities for M&A activities, and supports the evaluation of potential suppliers
Your background

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Marketing, or related field or MBA preferred
  • 10 plus years of experience in Product Management and/or Marketing
  • Sound knowledge of new product development, product lifecycle management, project management, and pricing. Highly preferred candidates will have relevant experience in electrical construction, electrical distribution, or power generation
  • Demonstrated experience of developing and managing marketing and sales strategy
  • Proficient in Power BI, Excel, Microsoft Office; Knowledge and experience of SFDC and SAP
  • A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
