Director, Product Management, Manual Wheelchair

This position leads the Permobil Americas manual wheelchair product portfolio and pipeline strategy and oversees a team of product management professionals who execute on key commercialization and maintenance functions throughout the product portfolio lifecycle. This position drives top line growth and bottom line performance of the entire line of Permobil manual wheelchair portfolio available in the Americas region including complete chair products, accessories, line extensions, updates, services, and other peripheral solutions. The Director of Product Management, Manual Wheelchairs, will lead the development and implementation of commercial strategies designed to support and deliver on regional business objectives as well as provide the voice in communication of regional commercial needs and requirements to regional and cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Duties:
Serve as one of the senior Marketing leaders for the Permobil Americas organization with primary responsibility to provide inputs into overall Regional marketing strategy and cascade regional and corporate objectives into the product and portfolio management teams for manual wheelchair products.
Develop and maintain overall market model, including detailed information on manual wheelchair market segments and competitors.
Understand and predict market, clinical, and reimbursement trends to inform manual wheelchair portfolio management strategy.
Manage, develop, and coach team of product management professionals and furnish them with resources, tools, and uniform processes to be successful in their jobs.
Develop expert knowledge of customer and market requirements, clinical trends and competitor activities through research, conference attendance, and close contact with key opinion leaders.
Manage business relationships with steering committees and other key partners to ensure healthy dialogue, clear objectives, and efficient decision-making.
Develop manual product roadmap including both complete chair and accessories that accounts for and integrates company financial objectives, clinical trends, technology enhancements, customer needs and hospital economics.
Conduct business analyses to define value and opportunities for new manual wheelchair products and features.
Define customer needs and translate those needs into requirements and capability goals for new manual wheelchair products.
Define and facilitate customer research including qualitative interviews, questionnaires, case observations, focus groups, and user testing. Synthesize information to develop strategies and recommendations.
Facilitate efficient and sound decision-making throughout the development process to ensure new manual wheelchair products and accessories are aligned with customer needs, business needs, and established design principles.
Analyze regional business performance and opportunities to drive growth and profitability in Manual wheelchair portfolio
Be the regional representative ("the voice of the customer") in global value proposition and messaging work, working closely with Integrated Marketing teams, and regional counterparts
Drive commercialization activities in collaboration with other key stakeholders within and outside of the region, to ensure market readiness to introduce new Manual wheelchair offerings and push existing portfolio, including prelaunch, launch and post-launch activities in the region
Define and implement regional commercial initiatives (campaigns, etc.) to generate manual wheelchair portfolio demand in the region and to outperform competition
Provide the regional Marketing and Commercial organization with tender and market access support
Monitor and disseminate regional market intelligence, including defining counter arguments and sales tools to support in competitive situations and actively contribute to group-wide intelligence activities related to manual wheelchair product portfolio
Deliver training on the manual wheelchair portfolio to sales and other key stakeholders in the region
Deliver ongoing communications to sales and other key stakeholders in the region on commercial activities related to manual wheelchair portfolio

Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Preferred majors: Business Administration, Public Health, Health Economics, Health Policy, and/or Rehabilitation Technologies
Masters degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Equivalent is preferred
At least 10 years' experience in the medical device industry in sales, marketing R&D, or relative field
At least 2-4 years managing people
Functional experience in complex rehabilitation technology (CRT) industry preferred
Strong business mindset targeted and understanding of market dynamics and customer behaviors
Strong technical understanding and ability to translate technical information to commercially strong arguments
Documented experience in developing impactful marketing activities (value proposition, positioning and messaging, sales tools, demand generation activities such as campaigns, etc.)
Strong project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fluency in English, other languages a plus (to be refined based on the region and regional requirements)
Passionate about design details and the customer's experience with products
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to interact successfully with clinicians, service providers, cross-functional teams, senior management and staff
Ability to travel up to 20-30% of the time
Skill in managing multiple fast-paced and high-demand projects, successfully balancing discipline with a high-sense of urgency
Nimble, ability to quickly pivot, make sense of change, and point teams in the right direction
Proven management and coaching skills
