The Ideal Candidate

The Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing and coordinating licensee brand requirements and drive retailer communications and sales support for Genesco Brands Group along with interfacing and collaborating with individual licensor(s) and managing marketing budgets. To provide development and support for the overall product marketing strategy. Responsible for collaborating with sales/product development team to ensure the brand values & brand DNA are communicated consistently across all retailer and consumer communication via asset development and execution.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Work closely with the SVP Chief Product Officer to develop product marketing strategy.
  • Lead and manage co-operative advertising, public relations, online marketing, event marketing and visual merchandising services through in-house staff and external relationships.
  • Manage a multi-million dollar marketing budget
  • Collaborate directly with licensing teams at Licensors (e.g. Dockers/Levi's) to ensure consistency in marketing strategy for wholesale licensed brands.
  • Develop and deliver required and approved marketing assets to key stakeholders, internal/external
  • Plan and execute wholesale marketing to include advertising, sales support, trade shows, events and B2B ecommerce.
  • Manage day-to-day communications with wholesale sales team, design agency, and display partners.
  • Support new product collections and categories that meet opportunities in the marketplace with appropriate consumer marketing, including naming, packaging, displays, advertising, etc...
  • Manage trademark development and registration process with legal department.
  • Collaborate with key internal partners to consistently communicate brand message across wholesale and direct to consumer channels.
  • Identify key social media opportunities and drive awareness with external partners.
  • Build presentations to support divisions reporting, planning and strategies.


Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, public relations, or communications
  • 5-10 years of marketing experience required
  • Experience managing client/agency relationships
  • Experience with primary and secondary research
  • Experience in a multi-channel environment a plus
  • Must possess excellent writing skills
  • Ability to analyze marketing efforts and present findings
  • Computer proficiency to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle competing demands, and maintain good working relations with department and media
  • Team Player
  • Problem solving and creativity
  • Travel required
