Summary

Grady Health Foundation is seeking a Development Associate to assist in managing a portfolio of major and mid-level philanthropic partners helping to meet significant annual revenue goals for the Grady Health Foundation. The Development Associate will report to the Development Officer to support building relationships with individual donors and will help create and implement tailored strategies to close and retain gifts of $5,000+. Additionally, this role will participate in corporate engagement initiatives, including securing sponsorships and philanthropic gifts. The Development Associate will collaborate with other members of the Foundation team to drive annual fundraising strategies that support the priorities of Grady Health System.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities

      Support the Development Officer to help identify, cultivate, solicit and steward qualified prospects and current philanthropic partners, supporting a collective portfolio of 200+ individual and corporate philanthropic relationships.

      Meet or exceed annual giving revenue goals.

      Execute strategies to increase philanthropic engagement with individuals and corporate partners through event sponsorships, giving societies and tailored requests for funding.

      Engage with donors through phone calls, video meetings, presentations and in-person visits.

      Coordinate donor cultivation and solicitation activities to engage board members, health system executives and clinical leaders as needed.

      Assist with donor activities, tours, stewardship events and educational outreach.

      Promptly record all interactions and related donor activity into the Raiser’s Edge database and share relevant updates with team members.

      Assist in the development of compelling proposals, presentations and correspondence for prospective donors.

      Conduct timely stewardship activities, including personalized thank you calls, letters and emails.

      Participate in regular goal development meetings with other team members to review donor activity, track fundraising metrics and assess progress toward annual goals.

      Communicate Grady’s critical role in community health and impact of philanthropic support.

      Collaborate with other team members on the Foundation’s annual fundraising events, helping to engage and steward event participants.

      Other related duties as assigned

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

      Bachelor’s Degree required

      3 years of front-line experience in fundraising preferred including a focus on individual giving, corporate partnerships and portfolio management

      Proven record of cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects

      Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

      Ability to engage and build meaningful relationships with a diverse array of individuals

      Self-starter with ability to work independently to achieve individual goals, while being                    able to strategize and collaborate with team members to accomplish organizational goals

      Experience using CRM/Database Management platform; Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge Preferred

      Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

      Understanding of healthcare and health equity issues preferred

      A desire to learn with a focus on professional development
