BGS is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our team at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN, which provides integral mission support to the NNSA.

Responsibilities:
- Building evaluations and modifications, seismic analyses and rehab, oversight of outside engineering firms, and machine installations.
- Proficiently develop structural designs including drawings (plans, sections and details) for various materials of construction (concrete, steel, masonry, cold-formed steel, timber), engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, structural calculations, equipment anchorage, report preparation, drafting or oversight of drafting, and preparation of construction specifications in the form of general notes on the drawings.
- Effectively and cooperatively work as a team member of an integrated project team, or as a technical lead for a multi-discipline task and will routinely provide design verifications and squad checks.
- Provide input to system engineers and other plant customers.
- Routinely perform walkdowns in the existing plant facilities in order to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel.
