How Is This Role Important to Our Work?

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota is looking for a Market Research Analyst Intern to work in collaboration with our Customer Experience(CX) team during the Summer of 2022. In this role, you will conduct primary and secondary market research, analyze data and assist in the development of strategic insights and recommendations on ways to improve member and customer experiences. You will use our online survey platform and software programs to program and implement online surveys, build data tabulations, and analyze and report key data. Finally, you will be exposed to the Blue Cross MN Consumer Experience Insights capability and will have the opportunity to learn about the business of Healthcare from a consumer lens. THIS JOB IS HYBRID AND WILL BE IN THE OFFICE 2 DAYS A WEEK.

A Day in the Life:

  • Assist in the management and execution of our Member Satisfaction survey among key accounts and other key measurement programs. Duties include sample and data management, online survey development and execution, and analysis and report generation (monthly and quarterly).
  • Consolidation of eight (8) government mandated health care member surveys (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Surveys or CAHPS) into a comprehensive and cohesive report.
  • Assist in the development and reporting of strategic insights and specific recommendations intended to improve the overall member experience.
  • Assist in CX measurement and the development of key insights based on current past trends, business initiatives, open-ended comments, and competitive environment.
  • Develop and present a report summarizing key takeaways and insights at the end of the internship.

Nice to Have:

  • Majors in Business/Management, Marketing, Consumer Experience or Market Research, Statistics or Health Care Management.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Access, Qualtrics (online survey platform) and/or Wincross (data tabulation software) a plus.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • College student or just graduated.
  • Current enrollment in a 4 year accredited academic institution.
  • 3.0 or above GPA
  • Proven ability to tell a story with data.
  • Application knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to learn quickly and methodically in ambiguous environments.
  • Organizational - ability to capture, categorize and prioritize information.
  • Communicate to all levels.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about the evolving science of Consumer Insights.
