The Engineering Intern will assist the production departments addressing issues that arise from the daily shift changeover meetings. These are generally short term projects in response to Quick Kaizens.

This is a critical component of our WCM continuous improvement program. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our performance and the reliability of our processes. The shift handovermeetings raise the red flags. The quick Kaizens determine the root causes and the engineering teams develop solutions that remove the root cause and eliminate the problem from occurring again.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Attend the Extrusion shift handover meetings in the mornings and afternoons
• Participate in Quick Kaizens
• Resolve issues with permanent solutions to root causes identified in the QKs

• Currently pursuing/enrolled in accredited college/university pursuing degree (Bachelors or Masters) within mechanical or industrial engineering
• Skill in AutoCAD or Solidworks
• Some hands on experience preferred
